what size inverter to run 14" flat-screen TV and satellite receiver

These can regularly be had on "promo" for £20, the one I bought also had an USB power out socket as well..

Does the TV not already run off 12v DC via a transformer, in which case you could connect it directly?

I also use 150W inverter to power TV, freesat box, DVD player, max draw on batteries in sat mode is only 4.75 amps so battery does ok for six hours a night, 80W solar puts most of it back in during the winter and all of it in the summer.

Look on the back of your TV and it should have a label stating the amount of watts it uses..
Something like a Sky receiver 12 -15 watts..

My cheapo 16" LED TV from Asda mains only was 20watts.
The 150 Inverter shown above is ample, I have one and use it for lots of things..

A lot of supermarket and other cheaper brand TV's can easily be converted to 12vdc if you've got a friend or whatever into electrickery.:thumb::thumb::thumb:

Then it would be even less of a drain on leisure batteries given inverters are at best only 75-80% efficient.
