I think that they are wrong, leisure battery should charge when driving and when on hook-up, ours does.

Always easy to check esp if you buy one of those £2 voltmeters posed last week.

Never seen a Burstner yet that does not charge the leisure battery ( batteries ) in both scenarios ( unless it has got a fault that is ! )

methinks either they have just given you duff info, or they know there is a problem and are trying to cover their backsides when you find out !

I never thought of that one !

Our old Eletroblock also does the reverse, it trickle charges the starter battery when on hook-up.

thats a valuable feature i hadnt thought about, do you think its a standard (just bought an elddis autostratus), or is there a way to confirm - voltmeter whilst engine off but on EHU or something?

cheers, dan

Spot on. Engine off, hook-up off for a while, so all voltages settle.

Measure both, hook-up, if either increase they must be on charge. If it has a clever cross charger, the leisure battery might need to get up a volt before it starts transferring to the starter battery.

So....................Leisure.................Starter
Idle
30 min
1 Hr
2 Hr

Fill in the form, in triplicate, get it countersigned by a non-bent policeman, and post it on here for official confirmation.

Was it not the vehicle battery they said wouldn't charge while on EHU,

I expect that`s what they meant-

My vehicle and leisure battery will charge while driving but--
Only the leisure will charge on hook up unless i switch the 2 way switch over to vehicle battery on HU ,then it charges the vehicle one.
Sometimes when on HU i leave it on the vehicle battery position to make sure it will fire up in the morning:thumb:
