In our m/h we have got 2 aux batterys (plus driving one) when i press the check charge button on the panell if it reads 50% does that mean 50% of each or totall as there is in theory 24 volts in there?

There aren't 24V they are wired as one big 12V battery and all the meter can see is on big battery. So 50% is just that half gone.

BUT.

Always a but, you normally discharge only to 50% so I wonder just what your 50% it telling you ? Common sense is that you are half way to 50% in other words 75% of the battery theoretical capacity.

50% over all .. It is not 24v but two 12v in parallel ( so result is still 12v but with higher capacity )

i think you should plug it in to the mains for a couple of days then see what it says.
if it is a digital control panel like the schaudt ones some of them need to know what the battery capacity is so it can tell you more accurately.
