Can't help you with the name, but, saw something similar in a Hot Rod Magazine while I was waiting for my car MOT to be done. The Ad was for a joker selling trim bibs and bobs
Don't know what year the Mag was, could be any, Mags in garages are generally as modern as the ones in the Dentists.

I have a specific job for it to do, it does the job just fine, telling you what that job is will not help as its not at all related to its intended use,
I have no idea what it was /is used for
What its generic name is or its specific name might be
I just know I want more of em

It looks like the clip off a small ball end joint. If I was still working I could have put my hands to it straightaway but now I will have to call on my memory to try and come up with the answer so my chances are not very good.

If they are clips off of small rose joints or ball and socket joints, I would take one along to your local model shop.. I used to use lots of em on the RC race car suspension set ups

Depends what you need it for, but battery cable retaining clips, or Chassis loom clips may be worth a look - if all else fails, try shoulder clips (thats the ones you have left over! lol!)

As for size indicators the part that looks as though it might go over a ball is aproxamatly slightly larger than a childs marble and smaller than a twoer

We use a similar clip at work the clip is fitted to a plastic end piece and then placed on a pallet. Idea being the clip digs in to the pallet and stops the end piece from sliding
