I'm new
Lots of chat and info from the two-plankers in this thread.

From what I read, it looks like Val Thorens is a good bet if you want to book and reserve your spot in advance.

The setup in St Anton looks great - Link Removed

When is it you are looking to go?

There are two trips out this season by the looks of things. Some are going out in January because they have no school committments.

Some of us with Children are out in February, there are endless opportunities and as regular Skiers for several years using the motorhome, be happy to offer advice.

Firstly, hats off to you for braving the Alps in a Bongo, I suppose with 4 on board, the body heat generated helped greatly!
Like Paul (Haganap) said, there are 2 informal groups heading to Val Thorens in January and February.
Val Thorens is the highest resort in Europe and has the advantage of a bookable and serviced Aire just 100 metres from the slopes. You will need good batteries and supplimentary power in the form of a genny of similar due to there being no hookup for other than short periods from the service point.

We will be in resort with our Niece and Nephew, 8 and 12, from the 6th Jan for 2 weeks. Another small group will arrive around the 14th Jan although I don't know how long they are staying.

Group 2, headed by Haggers, will be visiting Val Thorens during the school half-term. You will need to watch out for detail of this when he posts them on 'Rallies and Meets'.

There is lots on these forums ref. skiing, use the search facility at the top of the MHF homepage to find all manner of advice, controversy and foolishness!

For details on the Camping Car parking at Val Thorens, just visit-
