I'm new
Can the Funsters recommend any annual events that are worth considering where MH camping is available?

I'm thinking sporting events like F1, MotoGP, BSB or maybe Festivals etc.

I was at the MotoGP at Silverstone this year.
Very well organised, even though the weather tried to spoil it.
Loads to do and see and plenty of entertainment (not including the races themselves).

Farnborough air show and Santa pod are places I have enjoyed my motorhome.

WSB Monza is a never to be forgotten event. The campsite is right on the armco on the start finish straight. The bikers party like there's no tomorrow. Sleep is not an option.

If you get there on Wed, get on the armco, you can stand on your roof and not need to buy a ticket.

And best of all it's in Italy.

Silverstone Motor Racing circuit has its own campsite - Woodlands. The major events have a well organised set-up. The F1 is really busy, I think most of the hook-ups are already booked for next year. Very lively.

If you are feeling wealthy, there is camping at the Festival of Speed and Revival meeting at Goodwood.

Agree Goodwood Festival of Speed excellent

Also apart from the mud this year, Malory Park, Festival of 1,000 bikes, camping by the circuit, also good camping at Oulton Park.

I am a great fan of the Le Mans 24 hour race and take the M/H every year. A great party as well as the race.

Any of the Funster meets.

You can usually enjoy the following at one...

Watching Eddie (supervised by Carol) clean his Hymer windows after removing his silver blinds.

Watching Dixon and Barbara taking Rosie for a walk (or is it the other way around?)

Measuring Bob's RV with a 24 foot tape measure.

Listening to the (mostly) male voice choir.

Climbing Sunshine Mountain (in the early morning.)

The smell of frying bacon on Sunday mornings.

Camaraderie.

Telling others of how many amps you have from your solar panels.

Learning from Steve how far you are from the nearest roundabout.

and much, much more... others might add to this list...

"Hartlepool - Sundance changing his socks (2nd week in November)"

We leave Hartlepool for other (normally sunnier) climes at the end of every September and don't return until the beginning of December. It avoids being around at the most unfortunate time of year.

Of course some might say that leaving on 1st Jan and returning on 31st Dec avoids the most unfortunate time of year in Hartlepool :RollEyes::RollEyes::RollEyes:

Yes we enjoy that

too every year! Being local we don't stay over but do a good lunch in the camper!!

Also excellent is the Cropredy Convention - Fairport's annual August festival, such a great outing.
