1. Before parking onsite, put your fresh water in.

2. Gas cookers have a safety cut off. You must have the hob lid open even if you want to use the oven or grill.

3. Waste water isn't meant to vent onto hard standing.

4. Keeping your dog on a lead at all times is stressful for dog and owner.

5. 5.5 bar is between 79 & 80 psi

6. TomTom on iPhone is useless if you have an overcab bed as no line of sight to the sky. Fortunately the Garmin off my motorbike has a far better antenna and works.

7. It's a good idea to change the routing preferences on a mororcycle gps if driving a MH.

8. You'll only need half the things you brought, but all of the things you didn't.

And if you have a rear kitchen, do not slam the anchors on! Unless you want the contents of the cupboards in the cab:Doh:

Hadn't been impressed by the torque of the 2.8JTD, and when I got home decided to check and sure enough the front wheel nuts were warm. Worked out that our mpg was about 19mpg which reinforces my suspicion that the brakes are dragging/binding.

Got it booked in our local garage later in the week for inspection.

At least everything worked, on electric at least, and the cooker/oven/grill all worked on gas.
Didn't use the Thetford

Don't wait to learn from experience never to put heavy pots pans or objects into overhead lockers that can fall out.

Many a van has a dint in the work service through this.

if you have rear steadies and you wind them down whilst parked put the handle through the steering wheel to remind you so you dont drive off and leave 2 nice furrows in the campsite

the other one is if your hook up cable is on a tidy reel put the reel on the drivers seat so you dont rip the hook up post out of the ground or worse a big hole in the side of the van where it used to plug into.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

.

Letting it off lead to wander around and crap everywhere is stressful to everyone else especially families with kids.

Please note I love dogs.

1 year on and loving it!
It is stressful having your dog on a lead when they are used to running free.

If I had known that I was going to have a motorhome, I would have made darn sure I trained my dog to be happy on the long lead, and not run around me in circles tangling up my legs, the nearest tree or anything else she happens to take a fancy to at the time!:roflmto:

P.S. I have no problems with having her on a lead when parked up - but that doesn't take away the stress. :winky:

IF you have to have your dog on the leash, then take them for more frequent walks,it will make you both more content:thumb:

A lot of dogs that never bark when they are with thier owners........do bark all day when left alone.

Of course their owners never know that as they stop as soon as they return

and if you tie your dog outside the van, dont forget to check he/she hasn't crapped under the van when you decamp.

I always clean up when i spot one round the RV but always forget the underneath when we leave site.

likewise with the kitchen drawers and the cupboards that have the push to lock knobs on as if you don't the drawers banging open and closed drives you insane and if you forgot the cupboards well you end up with stuff all over the floor.

We made a rule when we got the MH, I am responsible for outside, SHMBO inside.
Within a few yards fridge door opens spilling contents onto floor, side lockers spilling contents into road! (1 faux pas each)
Overhead lockers closed but not latched, dog gets surprise from above.
I fill with fresh water, coil up hose and leave water cap behind.
Never had problem with caravan as we didn't travel in it !

And with regards to dogs, here is my lad suitably walked and tethered and annoying no one. Apart from the French with his Union Jack neckerchief and refusing to converse in French. I had someone speak to me in France in English, I asked "how did you knoiw I was English?" "I just saw you clear up your dog's crap, the French don't bother" she said.
That's what she said Frankie! I'm sure there are responsible dog owners in France?
