Only bloody squarking Sea Gulls...:Sad:

So it was nice to see this thing here this morning...:thumb:

Taken through a window on a long range "Zoom" so not too clear..

About the same size as a Dove..

What is it... ?

Mo...... it's a JAY:Doh:...they are a very shy bird....they quickly jump out of the tree to pick up food and back into the tree again...so not that often do you see them on a bird feeder

Mo...... it's a JAY:Doh:...they are a very shy bird....they quickly jump out of the tree to pick up food and back into the tree again...so not that often do you see them on a bird feeder

Great pictures :thumb: My only views of jays have been much further away, as they've done a runner through the trees.

By coincidence, I was looking at an Link Removed about them this morning and was at a presentation last year from the same scientist mentioned in the article. Like a lot of corvids, they're smart little things

In a camp site near Porto we saw Jays in flocks of about 10 to 15, something I had never seen before or since.
