Our last stop before leaving on the 12 midday DFDS ferry on Sunday. Any tips on the best place to stay? I must admit your advice so far has been very helpful for us novices.

There is also dedicated motorhome parking (but no facilities) at Stella Plage, on the southern side of Le Touquet - we stayed overnight earlier in the year. Plenty of others there too. Head into Stella Plage and turn left (south) - the parking is right next to the extensive sand dunes and beach. :thumb:

Should add, it's a no-through road, other than access to a campsite, so no passing traffic - at least non when we were there.

There is a restaurant there I used to go to called "Le Coq Hardi"
Not sure what the French translation is but it appealed to my schoolboy sense of humour no end::bigsmile:

That is my only tip sorry

Don't be tempted to not get a ticket at the Yacht Club Aire or the "Boys" may be knocking at your door

If you are going to stop in Le Touquet you might like to know that the Marina Aire has been reduced in size.

Half of the Aire is now a car park and there is only room for 12 tightly packed MH's - although the road close by is still usable for MHs.

It costs €9.50 for 24 hours and €2 for 2 hours electric and €2 for water.

The Aire at the Equestrian showground 400 metres away is €7.50 for 24 hours with much more space to park - same price for electric and water.

Both Aires are about 10 minute walk from bread shop and around 15 minutes walk to nearest restaurant.

If you do stay at either make sure you pay as the Local Police are very keen and frequent visitors to make sure you have paid.

The Stella Plage aire was full of French vans in June but should be ok at this time of year.

We were at the air about 4 weeks ago and sorry but I dont rate it at all. Packed in like sardines and over priced with little or no facilities. To far away from the town which is also over priced and in my view over rated. Only good thing was the over priced crepes. Just my view of the place.

That's my view of Le Touquet too.

Saturday brings the boozy wide boys from the South East on stag parties as well - best avoided IMO.

:Cool:Wish we were heading in the opposite direction!!!! Stella Plage is the better of the two adjacent aires and at less than 10euros per night is a bargain.Lovely beach adjacent and the town has some really interesting eateries. Enjoy!!!

I used to live less than an hour from Le Touquet.

I also found it very overpriced and overated.

The only reason we would go was to to take my (then younger) daughters to the open air pool complex, which was nice on a warm sunny day.

Other than that....

Thank you all for your tips. We have ended up by the yacht club. Couldn't get into the Casino as they wanted our passports? Didn't see the post about the Coq Hardy until too late and ended up at another rather overpriced restaurant. Nice walk along the beach though and a free military air show.
Next stop Arges as recommended.
We have learnt so much on our short trip
Thanks again
