Not sure I can see much difference in the roadmaps but the 'satelite' maps are now useless!

I have the first version of the IPAD and it is not showing for that yet

had it come through from Apple for the iPhone... but not for my MacBook Pro.. although did get a large section of IOS 6 for part of the photo area of the computer.

I got a biggish up load yesterday.. 45 minutes for the IMovie side of the MacBook Pro... quoted IOS 6 ... think it was to do with face book etc., Do not use it, but the upload still came through.

Noticed the one for the IPAD is for the 2n d / 3rd generation not the first. but covers all the IPHONES.

Downloaded ios6 for my iPhone 3GS but didn't find a whole lot of difference unless I am missing something.

Like Bob I have the original iPad and wonder if there is a great advantage to upgrading to the latest version or would it be sensible to wait a few months for the next version, rumoured to launch in March 2013.

I still use it every day despite having the MacBook Pro which is still fantastic... not regretted buying it. I still have the IPHON4 and have no desire to up grade yet... but I am watch to see what is coming out in the future.

Just realised I now have "Siri" on my iPad which wasn't there before. It's a waste of time on my iPhone 4S but my daughter does have fun talking to "him" for hours on end.

The Samsung S4 is due to be launched in January, now that would be a step up in technology.:thumb: You will be able to carry spare batteries for it to. Could be useful when 4G arrives:thumb:

Im still using version 4. The one time i tried to update it, it stopped working and had to go back to Apple for 3weeks :Angry:. Luckily I had an old nokia to use in the meantime which was a much better phone.
I would never buy anything by Apple again, when this phone dies I will get something else.

SWMBO wants an IPAD 3 for Christmas

SWMOB has decided she wants an IPAD 3 for Christmas.... the 32 with G.. not cheap, but I have used my Ipad1 every day int he last 2 years.. and I see Sue on the IPHON4 for hours.. so we will get it nearer Christmas.. by then the version 6 will come as loaded.. let apple do it.

Just a case of the best deal.. John Lewis has had my money in recent purchases of Apples due to the extra year warranty they give. But I purchased an Apple extended warranty on my Ipad1 and they changed it when the screen went.. so it is as good as they say.

Bob - the ipad2 is better than the ipad3 I promise you. We have both. The 3 is always ( and I mean always ) on charge. Something to do with the new screen. I suggest you compare them side by side. The only difference you will notice is that the 2 is thinner.

I have no battery issue with my 3 at all. I've been using Sky Go courtesy of my son and have been watching programs often for 3 hrs at a cost of only 20% battery.
Apple store advice is to run the battery down as much as possible before charging as it is designed to be used NOT kept full all the time.

I googled battery life on the. 3 and apparently they wanted to replicate the bright clear screen on the iphone4 but to do so would have made it much too expensive. Instead they botched it with something that eats battery power and I do mean eats it. If you use it while charging the battery life wll go down, it's that bad.

wife uses hers a good 24hrs playing games/doing jigsaws before re charging

Hi Andy. I am just comparing the 3 with the 1 and 2 we have. Unless I have a faulty one it is significant which is borne out by other users. My iPad 1 would last ages on a charge just like the iphone4 s I am posting on at the moment.
