Hi ,Anybody going to the MCC holiday site for Bristol balloon fiesta in august (FREE) that is the fiesta, Terry:Cool:

Always popular, the MCC site is right opposite the event and always well organised. The mass ascent each morning is spectacular.

Went to it last year and had a really good time well worth going, if they are running the old buses into Bristol to see the Vintage Bus show, I would recommend that. Enjoy.

I plan on going in the morning (Wednesday) and staying with the MMC. I know the event is not on until Thursday evening but the rally starts tomorrow.

9.30pm on Thursday is the Nightglow and Firework Finale sponsored by Bath Ales. This is well worth seeing. The ballons are on the ground and light up to Music.

Enjoy it everyone. We got to see the balloons only once when we went a few years ago as the weather was not good. However we took the park and ride bus to Bristol and explored.

sounds absolutely wonderful, unfortunately I have not yet mastered the art of being in two places at once. would love to go thou, so I will make note to self for next year. enjoy all that is going!

When the gun goes off each morning, the sky rapidly fills with balloons. The MCC site is as close as you can camp to the event.
If you are going to use the park and ride to go into Bristol, I don't suggest Saturday. The traffic gets pretty heavy around the event and the buses can be delayed getting back.
Avon MCC group do a great job, lots of vans but normally plenty of room as the field is quite large.
Weather is looking ok, especially for the early morning departures.
