We're considering extending our Saltfleet trip by staying at one or more THSs on the way there and/or coming back.

Looking in the C&CC magazine there are sites for the period in question at Anderby, Skegness, Whitby, Humberston, Mablethorpe, Bridlington, Ingoldmells, Fraisthorpe, Chapel St Leonards, Flamborough, Cleethorpes & Scarborough.

Does anyone have any tips as to any which are the best, any to avoid, dangerous natives? ::bigsmile:

Anderby I'm not sure how far from the seafront the site is but Anderby Creek is a very small place with good beaches and very little else.

Ingolldmells Grays Farm about i/2 mile from the seafront and on a bus route to Skeg and [Fantasy Island Large Market and entertainment complex] .Good beach and the usual seaside things Pubs and Slots. Grays Farm gets very busy.

Mablethorpe Good beaches and traditional bucket and spade old fashioned town.

Chapel St Leanards The site is adjacent to the beach on Trunch Lane and about !/2 mile from the village It advertises it self as a village by the sea with a green and several pubs, always popular. Its also a few minutes from main coastal bus route between chapel and skeg.

Skegness Pine Trees on the Boston road just out of Skeg it is on a bus route but probably not as regular as the chapel to Skeg routes which runs every few minutes .Skeg is the usual seaside resort pubs chippies slots with good beaches and very busy in august

There are a couple of Whitby sites. We like the one that is at the college. It's only 5 mins walk from the harbour. On the playing fields, flat, well drained and you can use the showers in the changing rooms it gets very busy but if full you can park outside the gate and wait for somebody to leave.

The Scarborough site is atthe top of the hill where they do the hill climb races. Another nice flat playing field where you can use the showers although a bit rough and ready. Evening socials areHeld in the pavilion building - bingo, quizzes, music etc but no pressure to join in. Bit of a hike down to the sea front and quite a climb to back to the van. A taxi is only about 3quid.

Butler's Lane at Flamborough is nice. Peaceful, good walking area range of pubs in the Village. You can catch the Bus into Brid,Filey or Scarborough.

I`m a newbie
That's quite fitting, as more than half the people in Lincolnshire are from Yorkshire.

Mr Moos , weve stopped there a few times. :thumb:
We have rallied there too. Yummy icecream mmmmmmm nice site.
Great beach for the dogs to run on. The kids were swimming in the sea , the last time we went , and a little seal popped up its head about 2 foot away from them. Frightened them to death at first. It was only a little thing and it kept coming up to look at them. We'd recommend Mr moos .
