Hi
Thanks for the big welcome in the newbie secotion.

Question time

I bought my first MH, see pic

It was advertised as Hymer B-Class 544 on eBay. So, how do I know that it is a B Class, and whats the difference between Bnd A Class Hymers?

It is a mess inside and out, so, what is required for me to get it an MoT and get it so that I can move it, and rebuild the inside.

I am pretty sure it has LH drive headlights, so no doubt, reading some other threads on here, that it is going to have new lights.
What do they check for Chassis and other bits for MoT

Thanks

A Woosh bang
This is an A class motorhome, ie, built from the chassis up.. ie not a converted van

It is a Model B 544 ..

The MOT is Class 4, same as a car.. there is an MOT check list on-line if you do a Google

It has exactly the same test as you car,
Nothing different or extra because its a motor home
I suggest you do nothing with your headlights untill its failed, some are set with neither left or right bias, some are adjustable at the rear
I recommend you only refer to the vosa testing manual and not others that are quite likely to be out of date
You can either browse or download full version free HERE
You require No 3 Inspection Manual for class 3/4/5and 7
NOT No1 The Testers Guide, That will send you to sleep:winky:

As Jim rightly said it is an A class Purpose built body with large (Very Expensive windscreen) make sure insurance cover is for at least £3000 for glass (Don't Panic that's the norm for A class vehicles)
B Class = A standard Van screen with Bubble over cab for bed

You will need to give the mot man a [HI]back hander[/HI]:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Now when Yosser talks about back handers, we need to know whether he is talking of a "bung" or a "thick lip"..........which is it Yosser?

Actually if Yosser gave him a "Bung" and it then failed the MOT he'd give him a "thick lip" after.........:ROFLMAO:

11yrs, but many years a tugger.
Assuming that the photo is your exact motorhome, is it still registered on foreign plates. I might be wrong, but will not it's age prevent it from being registered over here. ?
