45 +years with breaks
I would choose the Lucas from those two
1. dedicated leisure battery, not trying to be a starter as well
2. known Brand
3. almost twice the cycles 500 as opposed to 300 with the semi traction

There is no such thing as a marine battery. If you see a marine label on a battery it is simply words and may as well say Mickey Mouse.

Not my words... readLink Removedthen decide.. don't be taken in by makers claims of cycles and deep discharge capability, watch the term leisure / deep cycle as it simply does not exist.... buy the cheapest FLAs .. 'bang for your buck' you won't go wrong.

Warranties are not worth the paper they are printed on, and even if the maker accepts your claim you will only get a pro rata discount on a replacement .. ie, a 3year warrant battery fails after two years you may get a third off a replacement .. I say 'may' as they will certainly dispute your claim claiming you abused it.. try proving otherwise....

Am with Jim on this. Get the cheapest possible and dont allow to deep discharge. Thats what kills em. Unless of course you are prepared to pay mega bucks for proper traction batteries.

Jon recommends Dyno batteries. I have just bought 2 x 130 ah (30 XHS/ 30 TMX) from easystart batteries. The also do a 115ah which is the 30HH. They are the importer so can provide the best price.
