I`m a newbie
My beloved other half decided she NEEDED an Ipad, I already have an Android tablet, but that was not good enough, her friends at work all have Ipads.
So off she went and came back with said Ipad, lots of billings and cooing, "aint it pretty, aint it thgin, look it can do so and so!"
Got it all set up and off she goes online, 10 mins later she comes back to me and says " Can I borrow your tablet?"
"Why?" says I
"Cant play games on Facebook with my Ipad!":Doh:

Well it turns out she could play some of the games she uses but not all.
So I am now left with an Ipad I dont want to use sat here while she uses my tablet. She says I should be able to get it working properly and then she wont need my cheapo tablet! Cheeky mare!
Anyway, can I get the Ipad to play flash software? I am sure there was something on here about it before, but I cant bloody use the search correctly(Demetia setting in early I reckon). So I am throwing myself on the mercy of the all knowing collective that is MHF!!!!

Great aint it?
How come we have to sort THEIR Ipad`s out?
They should have got something that did what they wanted them to do, I have never got on with Apple stuff anyway, my Iphone kept going wrong, my Macbook just would not work, even after going back 6 times, I think I am a jinx on them! Too bloody expensive to have to fart about with them.

you wont sort it..
Flash player is a product from a competitor to Apple so they dont allow or have any apps to allow you access to websites with Flash.. However from what i have heard flash is getting a bit old now so many sites are changing.

We have found a few games Amanda is used to playing on fun on the apps on iPad, have downloaded a few had to set up iTunes account though, even though the games were free. Try searching in apps for the games your beloved likes to play.

Got to say though I have enjoyed using the I pad whilst Amanda is using my lap top. Might ask her to swap for good, somehow I don't think she will once she gets all her favourite games on that she is used to playing on Tonka's I pad:ROFLMAO:

iPads won't run flash but there are a few web services that you can pay for that gives you a remote desktop to a server, the two main problems with these are the cost and the streaming speed.

Take a look here http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2011/nov/09/adobe-flash-mobile-dead and you'll see that flash is on the way out anyway, it will be replaced by the much better HTML5 on computers and mobile devices.

When Apple were designing the OS for the iPad, they had a big argument with Adobe (makers of Flash) because the industry is moving on and it was Steve Jobs' firm belief that Flash is an old , and somewhat insecure, technology. The internet is moving to HTML5 which enables the same functionality as Flash - without Flash.
So, the operating system for iPads and iPhones, which is called iOS will not run Flash. I believe the latest OSX for Apple computers (called Lion) also will not run Flash.

I have the previous OSX (Snow Leopard) on a MacBook Pro (but no iPad). That can run Flash, but I have installed a plugin on the Safari browser called 'click to flash'. This stops Flash running unless I click to allow it (or nominate a particular domain as 'safe'). This plugin will search websites to see if an HTML5 version of the content is available and run it if possible. Many websites have Flash as the first option with an HTML5 version sitting behind it - YouTube is an example.

Meanwhile, a lot of websites and games have yet to be migrated to HTML5 and for those, I'm afraid you are stuck for the time being.

Not for much longer :ROFLMAO:
not so!
From 15 August, Adobe will allow devices that already have Flash installed to continue to update it via the Google Play store, but won't allow fresh installs. "Devices that do not have Flash Player already installed are increasingly likely to be incompatible with Flash Player and will no longer be able to install it from the Google Play Store after 15 August.

I use an app called iSwifter, allows me to view Flash sites, have no experience of using it for games though.

Give it a try and let us know if it works for games.

Hi Folks

I put the app on a while back

Broken Link Removed

I have since found a free one, both are good and worth having both, make sure you get the free version as it was better than the pay version (it was free when I got it a few weeks back, not sure if it still is)

Puffin free iPad app

They use the cloud technology and their are a few more but the two mentioned are the best:thumb:

:cry::cry:was just enjoying getting used to the ipad. Never mind i know what i want for christmas now:winky:

A big thankyou to Sandy and Mike.

All we got to do is get Amanda used to the mouse pad that is on the screen of the ipad instead of the plug in that she uses on my laptop to play her favourite games, patience and some coordination is somthing Amanda hasnt got, so, still some restrictions for Amanda which she will overcome in time , so i may get to use ipad somtimes:Smile:

Steve Jobs got into a fight with Adobe, so no Apple products support Flash. Flash is rumored to be going "out-of-style", with advent of the amazing HTML5 and Javascript, you can do nearly everything you could do with Flash, and Flash is a lot harder to program.
Jobs was famously Link Removed as saying "If you want porn, get an Android" ;)
