Hello all, we're new to the forum, for the past few years my wife and i have been living and working on a farm using the motorhome and the landowners cottage when available, so technically we're part-time full timers!
However, the work we have on the farm is getting less as the farm changes, so being planners, over the next year or so we are looking for sites which are full timer friendly in case we don't arrange another similar setup.

We're based in Berkshire but are willing to travel (and become full-time fulltimers!) provided we can find some work in the new area.

The site must be dog friendly, any ideas or recommendations?

And before anyone asks, the user name is what we get called in jest! ::bigsmile:

Hi and welcome to Fun,
for Full timers there is a separate forum which has loads of info on specifically for folk that live all year in their motorhome and no doubt one of our full timing members will give you the link to it.

I never tell the site owners I am a fulltimer. I just book in and abide by the rules. I start with a couple of days booking to see if I like it. Then a week.

If it is a CL (most are) I then book in for 4 weeks then move on to another site.

This is all when I need to stop in a certain area.

yep more or less the same, been staying on CL's or CS's since November 2006, we have come across a few that will let you stay longer than the 28 days but for obvious reasons I won't name them. I have also found a really nice pub with two CL sites one behind the pub and another on the opposite side of the road so you can move between the two if need be, I don't think you will find any site that you can stay on indefinatley due to the laws of the land and planning regulations etc.

i thought the whole point of full timing was so you are not stuck in the same place all the time

Welcome to the Fun...

I was very lucky and was able to live in my van on a (mostly) quiet, non residential street near the centre of Bath for nearly twenty years... of course I was single and never put anything outside the van (chairs etc) and indeed rarely opened the back of the cab to living area curtains so no one know I was there... Even so I moved off whenever I had time off... Keeping my head down was the secret...

For you two, needing a site most of the time, I would guess you will sort out two or three small sites and move from one to the other...

I still park the Hymer in places like the car park at the Casino in Estoril and with careful use of the curtains I spend a few days at a time there and no one knows... I will try and dig out some photos I have of me there...

For some that is the deal. For others they have seasonal work and need to stop in an area for a few months at a time.

Others like to stay in an area for say 6 months then move on to a new place for 6 months.

There are as many ways of fulltiming as there are people fulltiming. That's the real beauty of it... Flexibility.
