Hi folks,

Just wondered if anyone had coma across the same problem as me.

We have an old mk3 transit autosleeper, the problem is the rear door has no interior lock. You can open it, but only lock it from the outside.

No so great as that's the main entrance door.

Any suggestions ?

Cheers

you could always get one of these Link Removed

if you remove the panel of the inside of the door and wire up through a momentary button switch then you just press the button to lock from the inside.

many many years! since I was a kid
from memory the mk111 transit has central locking fitted as standard. this makes it simple to fit a locking override switch on the back door to lock cab and rears from inside. when in the cab, just press the handle in and it operates the locks for security whilst driving in unfamiliar towns etc

Hi, our daughter has just got herself a transit, and only had one key.
But my brother is a auto locksmith and she now has a another key and a key fob, just hits the button now inside or out all doors locked. :thumb: Bob.

Had a look under the door card today. One of the link arms had popped off so now you can lock the door from the inside and it will unlock when opened for inside. A step better than before.

Still a pain as once opened it needs to be locked again from outside, but progresses :thumb:

Will get a latch from screw fix or toolstation when I'm passing
