Large chunks of driftwood and pebbles strewn over the car park, so not a good night for sleeping near the sea.

The picnic area at Eype on the A35 west of Bridport is good, we stayed there last weekend with about 20 other mhomes, also some stayed in west bay carpark despite the new signs saying no sleeping.
You can still park in Westbay for £1.70 for the Day

We stopped off at Bridport on the way through yesterday and every motorhome in Dorset seemed to have the same idea as us about stocking up at Morrisons. The signs at Westbay were not exactly friendly, no campers over 4.5m on the car park near the harbour, although one motorhome seemed to be pretending he wasn't there near the station car park and hoping no one would notice.

I forgot to get fuel yesterday, so it's either back to Bridport or head over the border into Devon for fuel, then we'll decide where to go.

And people wonder why local authorities are sometimes unsympathetic to motorhomes. Is it any surprise when there are selfish people like that around?

I don't actually know of any campers over 4.5mtres tall so we should be ok.

Calming down now.

I've parked on the second car park, only £2.50 all day and the main car park is closed due to debris and the sea breaking over the sea wall. The sun is out, so it may not be too bad after all.

Westbay

Any sized motorhomes can park in the Station carpark Westbay £1.70 and there is dedicated motorhome parking bays in the carpark behind but not sure if the price is the same.

The no overnight parking signs are handwritten by some local council l jobsworth so i don't believe they have any legal standing hence the people not being moved

That second paragraph is not only unnecesarily insulting it is also totally inaccurate. The ban on overnighting by motorhomes has been in place since at least 2006 and has full legal standing.
