Yes you heard it here first.

Tonight was the running club Relay race, with the legs still recovering from my last Ultra marathon 10 days ago I went and took part. We used the motorhome as a host venue after the event with Nikki making some wonderful hotdogs and cakes for the runners.

Then, the stupid moment arrived.

We got talking and on Ultratraillife they were struggling. They are following the route of the Olympic torch with their own alternative a torch that looks like a light sabre. and the aim is to actually beat the real olympic torch. One of the running club members said they need a runner to do the 14 miles between Crewe and Congleton. Unfortunately they were struggling with this leg of the journey and me being off work tomorrow thought hey ho, Ill give that a shot. One small problem!!!! its at 2-30.. nothing strange there I thought. Then I realised, I pick the torch up from another runner at 02-30 in the morning before running the 14 miles to Congleton :ROFLMAO::Doh:

02-30 bloody 02-30 in the morning :Eeek:

It's official, I am now really dum, but wish me luck. and please go to endurancelife on Face book and like my leg for me.

Every cloud has a silver lining Paul
You should get 40p on e-bay or the bring and buy for your torch and track suite after the event

Congrats - but youre as mad as a box of mad things who've just won the maddest box of things in the world competition

Is this running lark now officially an addiction or what.... you'd have been tucked up in bed on that there cold wet and windy night if you'd still been partaking in the nicotine:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Thought I would add some photos for you

First is me picking the torch up at 02-10 the second is me handing it over in Congleton at 04-10 after a 14 mile journey--The 3rd is my running club buddies who came to run with me, and the 4th is a quick break at sandbach.

Well done you. Dedication beyond the call of duty indeed. Plus everyone was clearly making up time which is excellent.

No issue Jenny, They only release so many stages at a time. So Ireland has only been released about 3 days ago. They will fill it for sure, if not as Ireland is well known for its endurance runners, some may do much longer stages.:thumb:

Thank's for the support everyone.
