In the garden messing with my Macro lens when I spotted this on a blade of grass. It was only around 10mm long, checked my book and Internet and can't quite get an ID of it?

Rhogogaster ViridisThe green sawfly is slightly larger than a normal house fly and is found throughout europe - carniverous so has some use in the garden eating the lavae of other insect - the lavae stage is vegetarian and uses many of the popular garden plants and weeds as its host. Hope that helps - not worth treating as is very mobile
