We have a brand new swift kontiki 669 every time we drive the bathroom door comes open the dealer said to put a catch on the outside but as we have lost confidence in them didn't think that was right considering the money we have spent any ideas ?

Its brand new....INSIST on it fixing by the dealer....and i don't mean a catch on the outside.

all it will need is a bit of adjustment to the mechanism.

We agree with pappajohn, it's new the catch should be working properly.....sling it back to your dealer:thumb:

We weren't happy with the sealant going around our loo where it meets the inner wall, gaps here and there, so we took it back and asked for it to be sorted. The omni step kept sticking as well, so we went back about that too:Doh: I think they used to hide behind the counter anytime we went in after that, but it's brand new and should be right first time:thumb:

unfortunately this seems to be the way of many although there are a few that don't just take your money and run

New or used, there are good and bad dealers.
some take your money then forget you ever existed....others, like our own peter (Johns Cross motorhomes), go out of their way to keep you happy.

it's pot luck !

Aug 09 to date 9,000 miles!
Our bathroom door does shut properly, but not if you don't shut it properly, IFYSWIM.

So before moving off, we try and remember to give the 'shut' door a little shove, when it .... shuts! For some reason Pete finds it upsetting if all he can see in the rear view mirror is the bathroom door. :roflmto:

You may also want to check your wardrobe door hinges - one of the screws in the bottom hinge of ours pulled completely out the other week - stupid far too short screws used. Mind, it's lasted nearly 3 years like that (and we are careful about everything, it certainly hadn't had a hard life even though it was well-used) but it's one of those things that had we known about, we'd have replaced em long before now. Easily remedied.

Ours did the same kontiki 649 . The timber /mdf in which the keep sits is not drilled out deep enough thus not allowing the latch to fully engage . Hope this helps . Now don't get me started on hartal hab doors ! GRR !
