Hi, we have a 2001 Windsport and we are the 2nd owner. We've stored it in underground storage the last 3 or 4 years. However, this year when we retrieved it, it had tiny bubbles covering all of the painted surfaces! Some of the area has since turned white. Did anyone ever have this happen to them? Do you know what caused it? We checked with the mine and they wont cover it and neither will our full coverage insurance. We got one quote to fix it and it is $7,000 ....... we are heartbroken! Thanks.

Can't remember ;)
Hi traveler13 and welcome :thumb: it sounds like you have an ali /alloy sided van -if so you have "tin worm" -small holes in your alloy bit like rust holes in steel -nothing much can be done only replace the sheets or rub down and fill with epoxy type filler respray and sell it :winky::Doh:

11yrs, but many years a tugger.
I think the Windsport has fibre glass panels.

You say it was stored underground, but what were the conditions like. Dry, damp, wet, salty, dusty etc ? Also, for how long has it been underground ?

what did the mine produce when it was active and what is the RV's outer skin construction.....aluminum, fibre glass etc?

knowing that could lead to an answer

45 +years with breaks
If its only affecting painted surfaces
Sounds very much like "Micro Blisters" caused by moisture in the paint spray lines when applied, comes through in a matter of time regardles of storage conditions
If effecting fibre glass as well (unpainted surfaces) same applies, its a well known problem in the boating world
