Hi we are hoping to move to this park next week, on recommendation but how near is town, could some-one give me an idea. Currently at Marjal, but finding distances from anywhere frustrating also Peter can only just manage to walk to the restaurant or pool, so we can't risk trying to get to Castral. We were going to stay longer, but didn't bring the car cos of the A frame saga
Mixed weather last few days some rain and even hailstones this afternoon

but seems a lot warmer than home.
Regards

Hi You have a Mercadona supermarket across the road a Lidle 3 minutes walk and town is a 5min walk away,
You can use the Pensionista club in town it is in a side street on right side of main road, when you see the fountain turn in there and take left fork club is a couple of hundred yards on right.
Enjoy your stay

Hi. I agree with earlier comments re Bonterra Park. It is extremely well placed and there is a very good Chinese restaurant in town as well.

Frogijock is spot on although it took me a bit longer than five minutes to walk to town.

Watch out for the corner overhang on the reception building, it is very low and has caught a few out.

Don't take the pitch on the left hand corner, opposite the dish washing area. The birds roost there and your roof will be a mess.

It's in the suburbs.

We cut our stay short because there was just nothing on the sea front, OK, one single hotel. I got told off by a copper for cycling on the sea front ( it is marked no cycling ). Road noise too.

We moved to Camping Cap Blanch a few miles south, Altea, deep joy, miles of sea front cycling, loads of sea front cafes. Proper job.

Here is Bonterra Park....

We call Bonterra Park " Butlins on the Med" :winky::winky::winky::winky:
Last time there we stayed at Camping Azahar - quieter and not so "Brit" :winky:

Agree with Hilldweller about the sea front - very nice prom but not much going on. Good for a long flat walk!

bonaterra

Cant fault Bonaterra ,its close to a town ,supermarkets on the doorstep and a bus service just across the road, dedicated cycle tracks in both directions for miles. All nationalities camp there so that speaks volumes Benicassim not a Benidorm or Blackpool but not everyone wants that .

You're right, can't fault Bonterra campsite ( apart from some road noise on the cheap pitches at the top end ).

Benidorm - Blackpool, just what I said when we walked in for the first time. To a kid from Manchester, Blackpool was just like Benidorm. So not surprising I did like it, OK there are some noisy bars but in the daytime it was just people enjoying themselves, just like FUNsters, but maybe a bit quieter and not so legless. Some impressive live music in the bars. I love the many varying building styles.

Then we spotted Cafe Valkenberg. Run by Dutch people and they did better pannenkoeken than we got in Valkenberg last year. We loved a nice Spanish Cafe on the front, Frankie quality crepes with coffee and brandy for two for €11, view to die for in both places.

Lovely site, very nice people, and about 10 minutes slow walk to town - lovely beach with a gorgeous front which again, only about 5 mins from camp site, I would recommend this site to you! Benecasim is a quiet resort:Cool:

We left Bonterra Park because the beach area was a bit lacking in "things to do". The promenade runs for miles, flat and straight but as Brian (Hilldweller) says there is nothing else there except for the one hotel at the very end of the prom. The beach is vast and it can get really windy there, blowing sand in your mush.

When we were there the place was full of Dutch and whilst they're ok a lot of them together gets a bit overwhelming.

As I said earlier it took me longer than five minutes to walk into town and then when we got there it was too hot to walk about.

We had moved from Cap Blanch and again as Brian said its a better jobby. There is no swimming pool at Cap Blanch.

There is free WiFi to your pitch at Cap Blanch.
