I have an Elddis 145 with a tow bar and bike carrier, the problem is that the bikes get coated in mud.

Is it easy to fit mud flaps to the rear wheel arches, which would have the advantage of protecting the underside of the vehicle as well or should I fit a type of skirt across the rear edge of the body just to protect the bikes?

You could fit a bike cover......... I have an unused Fiamma one......

Then that will get covered in mud instead......:winky:

you'll find most of the mud isnt from the wheels......its sucked up off the wet road by the partial vacuum behind the van when driving.

the same way that 'white van mans' rear doors are always covered in muck....and slogans regarding wives and dirty.:roflmto:

a good bike cover may be better. :thumb:

A lot of RV's have them fitted to save a mess getting on the towed vehicle behind the RV...

[HI]I have big mud flaps and a fair overhang[/HI], so the dirt does not come off the wheels it is sucked up as stated.

C'mon Bob.....a bit less about you personally and more about the RV:ROFLMAO:

Thanks everyone,

I will fit a rear skirt but I think that a bike cover will still be necessary, which is a shame. I guess this is why some MHs have garages.

Cheers,
Brian

Checout your local truck parts supplier. Spray suppression is cheaper than the stuff on ebay, not as heavy as rubber and on a MH, will last forever. Making the support is an easy DIY job.
