Hi all
We are planning a trip to the Netherlands at the beginning of June, does anyone know of a site suitable for a visit into Amsterdam, (not towing a car so will have to be either walkable, cycleble or on public transport) and any other suggestions as to must visit places or overnight stops.
Thanks

Google translation of site description

At 5 km distance of Amsterdam you will find our beautifully located camping "Reed Veen"

Our camp is surrounded by Nature and Water.

Located on the lake "The break" with connections to all surrounding waters, this is also the ideal spot for water sports and fishing enthusiasts.

On the other side of the lake you will find a recreation 't Twiske with lovely cycling and walking

By boat or canoe is the nature reserve Ilperveld accessible.

Our centrally located site offers you the opportunity to rest with fun trips to Amsterdam, Edam, Volendam, Marken and Alkmaar.

Shops and restaurants within walking distance (500 m)

Every 15 minutes a direct bus service to Amsterdam Centre.

Our campsite is open all year

Hi we stay in Amsterdam for a few nights 2 years ago, stay on the site below it was full of youngsters and loads of tents(we had MH pitch) in tent field first thought was oh my god what have we done :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:.

After our first impression we where pleasantly surprised they had a security gaurd on the gate after 9pm and had to show id to get in and no noise after a certain time cant remember but all rules where followed and no problems at all. We had our 12 year old(at the time) with us and would take her back no problem.

The site had a few animals on site like goats and hens for the kids to feed also had a few toilet blocks we found the ones at reception the best, has a wee shop and bar with take away on site also bike hire. The site is about a 5min walk from the tram then a 15min max ride to city center they als give you free wifi for the first 7 days and spoke really good English. Althought they had loads of youths they also had loads of families and also hire out lodges so a good mixture and i think the closes site to city.
