Elddis Autostratus LS Wheel and Tyre Question (1 Viewer)

Hi everyone
does anyone own one of these the one my dad has purchased is a fiat ducation on a 2002
the front wheels are 215 x 75 x 16
the rear wheels are 195 x 70 x 15 and the spare is the same i think
is this right ?
any help would be great other wise im on the lookout for the correct size rims and tyres !

tyre size should be in owners handbook. If you have not got a handbook try on the elddis site in the archive section.

I would not think so as you cannot use the spare on the different size axle

They should certainly all be the same size, I reckon the 215/75/16 would be the original fit. They certainly are on the 2004 Autostratus.

Yes, 215/75/16 are original fitment.

The smaller wheels on the rear are probably off an older model as no fiat in the last 10 years run that size as standard. I dare say someone with an older duke or talbot could tell your their size, it may well match. They may have swapped them to save money rather than buy new, or they may have had the idea that it is easier to change a smaller wheel a the back....people do have the funniest ideas at times.

Legally, the larger wheels are on the powered ones (front) so nothing that will get you in trouble per say, but having smaller rear wheels with a body that size on the back is asking for trouble handling wise (in wet or rutted m/ways) which could get you a wiggle on the rear.

Drive carefully until you can replace the wheels/tyres. Check local breakers for van wheels - must be 160 version (bigger van)

16" wheels are for the 130bhp models

15" are for 118bhp models

Someone could have fitted larger wheels at the front in an effort to raise the gearing a little in the past?


rolling circumference details both semperit van tyres as an example


195 70 15 = 1985mm / Static radius 300 = 811.161 turns per mile

215 75 16 = 2206mm / Static radius 332 = 729.53 turns per mile

this would make the van rev less for a given speed ie about 83 wheel revolutions less a mile its more than 10 percent difference

I think this is a safe bet for the reason

not the case these days it seems take the standard car space saver wheel.
it seems ok to run a different size wheel/tyre in an emergency but not travel over 50mph or past somewhere that could fix your punctured wheel.

although i see idiots running around with space savers on on the motorway doing well over 70mph and also the school run mums still have the space saver on for weeks.oh:oh:

the 3 rear are all 15 inch (inc spare)
i will try to buy some 16 i have been on the elddis website under archive but vcannot find a handbook for a 2002 elddis autostratus ls on the site.
anyone help out ?

try a breakers yard they may have some either 15 or 16 although the 15 is more popular and tyres are generally a little cheaper too.
