Evenin all,anybody know where i can get a gearbox for my 2.5 talbot swift kontiki,ive managed 2 get it to a garage,they are goin 2 doit,also getting clutch sorted as well.if i can get a 2nd hand 1 it will be a bit cheaper than a new one.look forward 2 hearing from anybody:Angry: All the best THe Bandit

You could get it overhauled, there are specilaist gearbox overhaulers abiut

Mark (ex TBTurbo foreman) at Unit 45, Lune Business Park, Lancaster, LA1 5FT (www.candmauto.co.uk to look, 01524843721 or email info@candmauto.co.uk) may be able to help you as he does do gearbox repairs. He had a Fiat in that was stuck in top when I was there and had it fixed the next day.


I had my cambelt replaced. His 'standard charge for all Fiat based motorhomes is £199.

He has a secure and patrolled yard with two electric hook ups and a water tap. A courtesy car is available on first come first served basis.

Mark removed, cleaned and lubricated the starter motor and adjusted the clutch for me as well as fitting the complete cam belt kit.

The total bill was still only £199!

The motorhome seems to run much better and I can now relax without worrying about the cam belt for the next five years.

I cannot speak too highly of this firm and I hope we keep Mark in business until I need him next.

gearbox on its way

Evenin all,well my gearbox is on its way from Abbey Transmissions in Enfeild,overnight delivery,on doorstep at the garage in morning,Doing xchange my old box for the new one.Its cost a lot of money,but i think its well worth itThe garage is putting new clutch in and giving the old girl a service,so all in all its goin to be a costly venture.All the best to everybody,and safe driving.THE BANDIT:thumb::Cool:

Evinin all,I ave bookmarked all those companies ive found relating to gearbox problems,i will put them on forum when i get time.Not been a good day today,just clipped a car on my blind spot on wagon on M61,The car driver was insisting we do the paperwork on hard shoulder,400yds from exit,i think he thought i would do a runnerso thats my bonus gone for the year.still got plenty of motorhoming to do,so that will take my mind of this incident All the best THE BANDIT
