After a bit of planing, the time had arrived we left home at 7am and after 320 miles arrived at Canterbury about 4pm ready for the next morning, but a quick call to DFDS they managed to get us on the 6pm ferry on Saturday Night.

Arrived at Dunkerque and pulled into the lorry Park and had a good nights sleep. At 8am we set of to drive South hitting the peripheriqe Paris about 11am it was manic but Ed managed to keep a cool head and we popped out the other side ok.

Pulled on to a aire caught our breath and carried on doing 357 miles that day pulled on to a nice aire at St Pourcain sur sioule, right on a river, a good nights stop over.

Next morning kept driving South through some beautiful scenery Clement Ferand and over Milau Bridge, still some snow lingering on the sides of the roads, but the sun was shining and we made good time.

Managed to get 329 miles in that day, this is the only part of our 4 months away that we will cover these miles daily but want to get to Marjal for Thursday.

As long as the van keeps rolling along like it is we should be ok.

Today we are at a Camping Cheque Site in Periscola, strange position just off the Peage you have to litrally turn to go to the Peage very strange, but can hardly hear any noise from it. in fact its very queit and peasful.

'Spa Natural Resort' it is spotlessly clean, got green false turf pitches they look really nice, and good little swimming pool, as well as some beautifully kept parrots and monkeys, a small site but excellent for a couple of nights stop over.

Peanut butter/FB pies/ Hienz soup all on board and ready for delivery.

Had some fun this afternoon getting lost in some fields, (we were told we could go through them) loads of orange trees with oranges all over the place, it would have been rude not to have sampled one or two.
Then futher on we came across this sheperd with a huge flock of sheep and three old mungral dogs just following him along took you back a hundred years.

Since 2009 with motorhomes several caravans then tents before that.
Keep safe and keep posting . So i can dream .
Cant wait to do this sort of thing once we have the time. It sounds fantastic . Not the 100's of miles a day bit:winky: but the travelling in a foreign countryside through lots of villages and seeing all the local things , sampling foods and drink , meeting people .
Not wishing the next 20 years away , dont get me wrong , but cant wait to have the time to do it ::bigsmile:

We arrived safely at Marjal yesterday about 2pm had a really good journey, the weather is definitely a lot warmer here in Spain than it was in The South of France.

Just a couple of facts and figures from the trip up to now the route we took was Chester / Dover / Dunkerque / Lille /
Paris / Nevers / Moulins / Clemont Ferrand / Millau Bridge
Narbone / Perpignan / Barcelona / Tarragona / Peniscola
Valencia and finally Camping Marjal Alicante.

We travelled 1,541 miles in 3 and half days. £100 Deisel / 252 Euros Deisel / Spent
96 Euro's on Toll Roads.

From now on though the journey's will be a lot shorter and we will avoid the tolls, it was just easier to get down useing them.

The site here is amazing facilities like a 5 star hotel, and the welcome from the funsters as warm as ever. Ed has just gone off to cycle into Catral with Hilldweller.

Thought I would have a chill before going to the Spa.
It was a long but enjoyable journey so now we will stay put for the next 3 weeks parked next to JJ & Frankie and Salopian.

Will post again when we take off who know where.

Just shows you the best laid plans of mice and men, after a great couple of weeks with funsters at Marjal, had a phone call from home and decided we should return home (our daughter needed us) Things will be ok but we are glad we got back.
