Hi my name is Alison and myself and my husband Neil have been keen motorhome users for the last 4 years, its taken a while to get the van we finally wanted (and cost us a fortune in the process!!!!!) and its certainly been a learning curve.
Thank you Jim for the lovely welcome, i hope to pick everyones brains especially on the subject of wild camping in Scotland.

Scotland is a great place to tour, to avoid midges go up till June, then end of August onwards. Wild camping plenty of spots easy to find, just don't park if it says no overnighting apart from that with care you should be OK.

Scotland is a great place to tour, to avoid midges go up till June, then end of August onwards. Wild camping plenty of spots easy to find, just don't park if it says no overnighting apart from that with care you should be OK.

We're in the south-west of Scotland (D & G) and our midges don't seem to have a break at all!! Today there were swarms of gnats around the garden, but we get midges all year round when it's mild:Angry:
We only need to open the door on a mild evening with no wind and there's dozens of them in the hall, drives me nuts:Angry:
Maybe we've got super-hardy midges around here!
