We found the coast very pleasant, but the interior bits were even more boring than Hayling Island......:winky:

I'm sorry - I'm having a cheap laff.

Last year we found the most superb municipal site right on the waters edge in the bay at Locquirec - if you stay there you won't regret it. Harvest your own cockles at low tide.......nom nom nom.......................

Last June we stayed at a site right next to the beach at Trinite sur mer. 10 minute walk into town but a restaurant also on the beach. Cant remember what the site was called but I think its the only one in Trinite. Cost about 100 euros for the week.:thumb:

to be honest you can travel round brittany just using aires . there are loads there. you could spend all summer travelling just in brittany its magical.by the coast or inland its full of nice places . lots of les routiers restaurants for plate de jour .many include wine as well.
just drive slowly and enjoy it . stop at lots of nice places then get up in the morning go round a corner and find an even nicer place to stay tonight . lovely area. and friendly.
look for institute graphic maps in book shops they are abit like ordanace survey quality.ideal for bike rides or being extra nosey. have fun ,you will i,m sure.

Well start with the Pont du Normandie and immediately thereafter Honfleur.

Merville- Franceville Plage - from thence pegasus bridge (on the way to Ouistreham from MF)

In no partic order - Cancalle (Oysters), Dinan (Walled city but don't think there is an Aire now) Port St Louis, Auray, any Petite Cite de Charactere - see
http://www.frenchentree.com/france-brittany-tourism-leisure/displayarticle.asp?id=8051
- can vouch for Rochefort-en-Terre, nice Aire there too.

Honfleur.........

Overcrowded

Overpriced

Over there

Apart from that, it's fine........................

Merde, I forgot another nice bayside campsite at Saint Jacut-de-la-Mer, with quite a few nice little shops and restaurants nearby.

Good place in Quamper (think thats spelt right?????) called "L'Epee" don't look much from the outside, (or inside for that matter) but the Food is excellent.
Theres a place in Beauvais(about a Kilometre or two from The Mont St M) on the left as you head towards the Mont, that specialises in the salt marsh Lamb (can't remember the French for it, Sel something or other) thats good, also, just opposite there's a Butcher that sells it, in case you want to do your own.
Roscoffe, theres a place, can't remember the name, it's opposite the shop with a " Johnny Onion" bicycle outside, the Seafood there is out of this World! a tad expensive, but, well worth it!

Hi Del, just a note to say thank-you for the Post as I'm making all sorts of notes from these wonderful suppliers of info.

As regards Hornfleur, yes it was great 25 years ago, but to anyone visiting for the first time it is still great and not to be missed.

Thank's all........Griff
