No. 2 stroke (Loud) Unregulated. Ok for power tools etc. I would be concerned about the damage it could do to things like my charger etc.

I have the Link Removed Digital one and it's fine for the money.

Well if you only need 700w, to power whatever you wish to run, why not?

No idea what sort of equipment you'd be limited to, though, but that is the only snag I can think of, off the top of my non-technical head?

I have often run one, connected to my 45A intelligent charger, to top up a large battery bank.

It's fine, as long as I first check that there aren't any grumpy owld (or young) gits about.
If someone nearby is making even more noise, then so much the better :thumb:

I did stay on a site once where someone was using one to power their two-man tent.
What on earth were they doing in there? :Eeek:

the reason i asked was that i done a run test on one of these and under a light load it was pushing out 290v and under a heavy load not exceeding it's capacity it was running at 180v,and nothing i could do to it would alter that:Eeek:

with these cheap gennies its the revs which dictates voltage.
with a known load you could adjust the engine speed via the governer to the correct voltage, but change the load and the revs would alter so changing the voltage once again.

it would also alter the wave frequency from the normal 50Hz, so not worth the bother.

exactly! i could get it to run at 220/240 untill i changed the load:thumb:

45A @12v = 2.25A at 240v = 540W so I guess it will.

But the charge voltage can be 14.5V so 14.5 X 45 = 652.5 Watts. Add some watts on for the charger to operate and losses etc and you would be pushing it I think?

If we're being picky, the bulk charge voltage will not be as high as 14.5v and by the time the battery is 80% charged and the desulphating/equalisation phase is at 14.5v the current will be much reduced, so I reckon its quite OK though I agree it may be getting close to the maximum continuous output of the generator.

You are of course correct, I didn't think that one through :winky:
I use 14.5 for calculations to ensure I have plenty of headroom. If memory serves by the time my charger exceed 13.8V the current starts to fall.

I don't mind being corrected when I'm wrong :Doh:::bigsmile:

I had one a few years ago, different name on it, bu the same genny. I used it for the caravan, one day the head gaskett went. I contacted the retailer, he said no parts in the country at the moment:Angry:, so I made my own gaskett and it ran OK,ish for a while longer...then i just binned it as pretty much useless.
