Just a quick question.

When quoting a low pressure Gas Pipe size of either 8mm or 10mm. Is this the internal bore not the outside diameter?

I haven't measured the pipe, but looking at our pipe it looks around 10mm but noticed it feeds a Manifold (I think Truma) that has the same size inlet and outlets. I don't believe there is a 10mm in and 10mm out available, so I am assuming the pipe is 8mm internal bore.

What possibly does give it away is the pipe is stamped with SW/8x1 which I pressume it means 8mm but thought I'd check with funipedia :)Laughing:) first.

i would assume from the sw/8x1 that it is 8mm diameter 1mm wall pipe.

hi, copper tube microbore coil 8mmO.D.x0.6mmx10mtr en1057-r220-blue label written on a new pack of 8mm. i just bought .and the 10mm is 10mmO.D. i just checked.
hope that lets you know.
both euro accesories and an old reimo catalogue show 8mm and 10mm in all the manifolds so imagine they will be available here . .

Hmm confussed.com!

Labelled 8x1, but it seems like it maybe 10mm. 'Spose it could be due to pipe is plastic coated that it appears to be so big.

I measured it and it's just over 10mm. So I guess it's 10mm.

Thanks all!

If you're gonna do a job........

Not being able to let it rest, I decided to measure it with some calipers rather than hold up a tape measure.

It is 8mm......... Why I didn't do this in the first place, I'll never know.

micro gas pipe is usually 6 or 8mm........central heating microbore is 10mm

it will be 8mm covered by a 1mm thick plastic coating.

the coating needs removing to make a connection

:thumb: Which is probably the 8x1 stamp.

8mm pipe with a 1mm plastic coat.
i reckon the 1mm is the pipe wall thickness so internal size will be 6mm plus 1mm either side.
the coating wont be mentioned in the sizing as it must be removed anyway to fit the 8mm olive and nut
