Hungary is def on the cards this year (1 Viewer)

Did Croatia etc last year, and providing the weather is ok we will be going up and over to Hungary this year.. There is a massive lake about 60 miles south west of Budapest .. got camp sites and wild camping opportunities right round it...
Anyone been there ?

Went to Hungary last year.. Will not be returning in a hurry I am afraid..

Country is in that stage between prosperity and poverty..

Prosperity is coming and shows in the infrastructure but the MINUTE anyone susses out you are not Hungarian everything doubles in price.. Was warned by some German friends before we went but thought it was worth finding out for our selves..,

Not sorry we went but as said, it is not a place that will gain a 2nd visit from us.. Instead we are proly going to go back to Croatia again.. Fabulous countryside and views, and I did not feel everyone was trying to screw us all the time

I did relialise the date, but Jaws was the only subject I could find on Search for Hungry so wondered if he was going or had been, for feed back.

Any one else with experience of Hungary or Austria.

Lake Balaton is a great place, I went 15 years ago with my ex wife and her parents, her dad is Hungarian. As I say it was 15 years ago, but I loved Hungary and was thinking about going again, but after reading your post I may wait a year or two!
