We have finally decided we want to have a bulk LPG tank installed under our Autocruise Augusta which is on a low profile Alko chassis.

To this end I am looking for any advice please on suitable systems and suppliers / fitters together with any pros & cons.

Cheers, Brian

Rather a long way from you as they are in in Thirsk, but a call to Autogas might be useful. I talked to them a while ago about options and found them very helpful.

I would advise looking for autogas fitters in your area, and 'check' them out. Ideally, see if you can find one that fits autogas and is conversant with motorhomes, and alko chassis in particular. Alko chassis cannot be drilled - so make sure that they are aware of this and have a cradle to fit.

You other options, would be looking at the refillable bottles and weighing them up against the larger tanks. It may work out beneficial to have the individual bottles, which fill from the autogas pumps.

Do remember though, that you DO NOT have to pay the tax on LPG road fuels - the garage should discount the vat for heating purposes.

Sorry I cannot aid you with fitters in your area, but do check that they know what they are dealing with first, as some may be unaware with the Alko chassis and its' adversion to being modified.
