Hi

we have a Fiamma F45 awning fixed to the side of the van and have just purchased a ZIP safari room, it comes complete with a RAPID SET system, before we take everything out of the bags and get even more confused no instructions that make sense !!

DO we NEED anything else or does this rapid set system fit the safari room to the wind out awning

Thank you

looking at the picture i would say you have all you need, but there may, can really tell off the pic, be a pad/bracket to fit to the awning housing which the pole will fit into..

awning

Thanks, yes I see what you mean,

there are multiple bags of bits with only picture instructions inside but I am trying to stop Hubby opening them all (as you know what will happen)

I presume then the sides will fix somehow to the awning ?

regards
Carol

The first thing you have to determine is whether or not you have a Zip awning ie the awning has zips running along the end edges. If you have, the safari room will zip directly onto the awning. If you have'nt got a Zip awning then I think you might have a problem.

The awning has no zips on the outer edges, umm so what is the rapid set system used for ?
and so the ZIP safari room actualy is only designed for a ZIP awning ?

is there a kit that can be used to match the two together ?

We have a Zip awning on our current MH and it has zips along the edges, as mentioned above, to attach the Zip safari-room. Our previous MH had one like yours, F45, and it and the safari-room for that model did not have zips. :thumb:

so what is the rapid set system used for ?

it appears the rapid set system is nothing more than an extra rafter pole and combined leg.

it will be to give more support for the heavy awning fabric and actually has nothing to do, other than that, with the awning room.
could be used on its own if you wanted.

Just a thought: is there a sort of beading alongside the zips on the side-panels? I seem to remember in the Fiamma blurb there was a mention of the Zip privacy-room sides having 'the addition' of zips. So maybe they can be attached to the rapidset poles as an option? Worth a look before panicking!! :whatthe:

PS: I'm sure Peter (Johns Cross) will be able to throw some light on the question!

I have a clip system Fiamma privacy room on a standard F45i rollout awning. The room sides slide into the grooves on the clips attached to the awning, the front slides into the groove of the awning front bar, the sides and front of the room zip together.

The clips fitted to the awning need a locating mount screwed to the inside of the awning holder on the van. These should be in a bag associated with the clip system.

Why not replace the canopy for a zip....The price for a new zip privacy room is more than the price for a new zip canopy..I personally prefer the zip system as it is quicker to put up...::bigsmile:
