Hi

I have been looking at a Bessacarr E795 but it is only on the 2.3 jtd engine.

Has anyone got one?

Does anyone know if the engine is big enough for such a large van and what mpg can I expect?

thanks

it certainly wont be quick but whats the hurry when your on holiday.
realistic figures for something of that size depending on road conditions winds etc.
about 22-28mpg seems to be what people tend to quote but there are so many variables including your right foot.

MPG

We have a 2009 Swift Bolero Compact with a 2.3 130 bhp engine, weighing 3300KG, the body is a low profile and we get about 30ish mpg driven sensibly,

The 2.3 engine develops 130bhp @ 3600rpm, the old 2.8jtd which you probably currently have , and was used in the old Bessacar 765 develops 127bhp. So you would think that the new engine would give comparable performance.

We have that engine. I think ours is 4000kg laden.

It seems to cope ok. I have had 85 mph out of it before it really started rattling::bigsmile:

Pulls ok. you might need to change down to 4 th on some of the bigger motorway hills but it's not a problem.

I know nothing about engines but it seems ok to me:thumb:

Mpg between 21 and 27 depending on right foot.

IN ONE WORD .........NO
all euro motorhomes are underpowered
if you want real power go for a great American RV lots of power better space and higher level of equipment
my RV is 7.4 V 8 with LPG can tow a 3 ton trailer as if its not there

Isn't that a bit like suggesting to someone, who's asking about whether a Kindle has a good enough screen to read by (battery life: weeks), that they'd be better off with a tablet (battery life: days) because it does more?

No hang on...more like telling them they'd be better off with a laptop (battery life: hours).

When I can think of a reason for towing a 3 ton trailer maybe I'll reconsider :winky:
