Found a tin of PlastiDip, bought originally to paint the roof of the old 608 (sold before getting round to it)... now keeping self busy coating tool handles - and anything else which may or may not benefit from a nice nonslip rubber coating - and thought of coating joints in the wiring for the reversing camera set-up. You can paint it on or dip items in it. I'm also coating the camera casing with it, not just to waterproof it (camera's already waterproof according to the blurb) but so it blends in with the colour scheme a bit and is less noticeable at the back of the roofrail.
Only problem is, after doing a couple of items, you find yourself getting carried away, ending up with all manner of things coated in rubber :whatthe:.

I thought you were going to say "they used to do a rubber sleeve for that" (but the heat gun to shrink it was a little uncomfortable).

Makes good rind for the 'worst ever cheese' - various colours available.

Oh, and no heat gun needed, just dip
