Alex and I have tugged since the 70's and m/homed more recently.
Do any of you know if there is a big increase in price if you just turn up to cross the channel? As opposed to booking ahead with Caravan Club or Camping Cheques etc.

Generally speaking if you turn up unannounced you will pay the highest price.

The cheapest way is book as far in advance as you can via the Internet.

Hi, are thinking of going very soon ? We go with Norfokline / DFDS as it is now, and although they have put another boat on to try and ease the back log, caused by the Sea France problem I would book your crossing as you could sit there for a few days. ::bigsmile: Bob.

Hi Guys, I just turned up last year on a trip last minute stuff and the total extra was only £15.00, I was lucky I think.

I'm not usually lucky, if I bought a cemetery people would stop dieing!:ROFLMAO:

What I did find out from DFDS is that its even cheaper to use there online machines 5 yards away from the front desk than speak to a human.
Having turned up in Dunkirk without a booking the nice lady told me to use there online booking machine and save myself 30 Emus.

Since May 05 (Ex Tuggers).
before booking with caravan club etc try getting an online price yourself......can be cheaper.
Not for a booking via Norfolk Line/DFDS John. :winky: The CC is always cheaper on that crossing. :thumb:

Cheers,

Jock.

If you mean nice ladys in France the answer is lots of em over the years

If you mean the online booking machine, you have to walk past them to get to the front desk in Dunkirk.

Hang on for another couple of weeks....you should be looking at buy one get one free then.

Thanks to all of funsters for the ideas about how to shave a bit off the prices!! Still can't book ahead but if I could £29.00 each way on DFDS/Norfolk line sounded good to me.
Sorry about the delay in replying, bit of a computer malfunction.
How many hours can one person sit in front of a pc reinstalling windows without going loopy??
However to occupy myself I've knitted a basket for the emu eggs.::bigsmile:
