Evening peeps,

This lectrick stuff is bl**dy marvelous, moved to the village about 4 years ago and we've had it since at least then. How it fits down that little wire is just a amazing, bit like the children up the chimneys. We had to stop that
as elf and his mate safety turned up in the village and said we couldn't do it no more. I have to send the wife up now::bigsmile:

Question on changing mh lighting to led. What needs to be done?
can I just purchase led bulbs that fit or would I need to change bulb holders etc?

Cheers,
2dogs

Depends on your existing fitting but a lot can be just a "bulb" change.

But there times with a bit of lateral thinking you can do a better job by a redesign. Like fitting multi LED flat modules to give more light than before.

Led Lighting

Having changed mine, most will just be a straight swap.

But you can get a yellow light, or a white light - personal preference, and I would buy good quality ones, as I have seen one start smoking on a stall display - not good advertising :ROFLMAO:

Good luck, S:thumb:

I've heard something about LEDs generating heat and needing heatsinks. Not wanting to scaremonger but worth checking out.

Do plenty of research, light output versus wattage etc, light is measured in Lumens now apparently,....as with most "must have" things, ther is an awfull lot of crap out there. i am also considering a hange at the moment, and will certainly replce some small "spots" with strips.

This is incorrect, LEDs do not produce heat which is why they are more efficient than bulbs, which produce more heat than light. LEDs do require some circuitry to reduce/regulate the voltage but this will produce much less heat than a bulb. Try touching a halogen bulb that's been on for a couple of minutes and you will burn yourself, an LED will still be cold after a couple of hours.

As Nearlyretired said.. But just to clarify, the circuitry required to reduce the voltage will be built in to the replacement LED 'bulb'
The heat generated by a standard 10w halogen is MASSIVELY greater than that generated by even the brightest LED replacement bulb..

Apart from a few VERY odd fittings, LED direct swap replacements are available for almost all fittings.
Very worth while mofication and will considerably extend the period you can use your van parked up on batteries without EHU :thumb:

Duno what sort of power it is but its a round disk that came with the adapter.
I bought it at Shepton show. Great anti theft deterant as it lights up the whole area and I can leave it on all night and it wont drain the batteries.
