To get red diesel for the tractor and the John Dere grass cutter I used to take 25 litre plastic drums down to Double D in Poole who had a redundant tank with gas oil in it and they would fill them up for me. Unfortunately the tanks running out now.

Hence the search for red diesel, bought some, how much for a 45 gallon drum delivered? ......................

£240 odd !

Me thinks the lady doth protest too much.

How much an hour did it cost to run your helicopter !

Mind you, what would it cost today ?

Look at it this way !......

If you are a fulltimer, you fancy a change of scenery and climate, you fill up, bite the bullet and arrive at your new destination ( Zahora....yippee !) then, it's your home once again without the added burdens of all the outgoings.....Result eh ?:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Brian me old mucker,

Helicopter paid its own way on wet lease hire to Air Hanson, never cost me anything and even if it did, it was tax deductable same as the planes.

One hell of a lawnmower.

By bike is £15 and it's good for 150 miles.

Bergman costs £13.60 to fill up.. that is 250 miles..

Blackbird is not quite as good.. Costs £25.00 but that is a tad over 200 miles worth

Sadly the bloody van only does 24 to the gallon

:ROFLMAO:glad I have got rid now :ROFLMAO:

That's some time ago :ROFLMAO:

Our red diesel bill for the JCB's has gone from just under £1000 to £1700 in the last 18 months. We can't put it all on the rate either as work is so hard to come by these days.

John's Cross - £240 for a barrell - you were robbed :Eeek: Wish we were nearer you we'd be able to make £100 a barrell out of you.

I have an Excel spreadsheet to help us check on fuel economy. I work it from 5th May to 4th May each year ( we collected the van on 5th May 2007) bit anal I know! (before anyone else says it!) :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

1st year - 19p per mile
2nd year - 21p per mile
3rd year - 19p per mile
4th year - 22p per mile
5th year so far - 25p per mile

Depressed now I've written this!!!:Sad::Sad:
