Did not really want to drag the BMW1200GS or Blackbird down to Spain so started looking round for an alternative

Original thoughts were on a Funduro or the Aprilia of the same genre

Then saw a 400 Bergmen scoot for a grand only 40 miles away
Went and collected it this afternoon and wow.. talk about bloody weird !

After riding proper bikes with big wheel for the last 45 years ( I did have a couple scoot things when I was 16ish ) it is incredibly skittish over white lines and even joins in the road surface.

Still, it happily bimbled along at 70, and seems to return about 60 to the gallon

Woman LOVES it cos she is sitting slightly higher than me so can see all around easily, instead of spending ages staring at my back :thumb:

I must admit I do find it bloody uncomfortable though.. never did like that slouched riding position, much preferring the position on a sports bike..

Got a back ache within 30 miles but I guess I will get used to it :thumb:

Just got back a couple of hours in the sun on my F650, still got the big grin.

mine was the same John.....white line dancer and bloody uncomfortable, trousers disappear up arse crack, after an hour riding.

i found it very 'top heavy' at slower speeds, wanting to fall into corners, and buffeted at high speeds, but that could have been the large Givi top box

if you haven't worked on one before be ready for a full days work to service it....most of the bodywork needs to come off for anything other than basic oil checks etc.

i believe Suzuki allow 6 hours for a major service and they know how they come apart:Eeek:

Yep.. but not a lot different to most sports bikes to be honest

And this has a bloody great big top box on it too !

Brian, if you really want a grin I will lend you one of my proper bikes :thumb: :winky: ( proper bikes start at 1000cc and stop at 1300cc )

Seriously, love the F650 but they are too much of a target for thieves.. i would be worrying about leaving it anywhere.

A crabby superscoot fulfils the requirements and this one was nice and cheap !

Jaws - you always seem to be buying toys.

I recall you buying some little buggy before nice 2 seater thingy.

Are you a child?

I only ask because you seem to make the same excuses I do for adding to my watch collection ::bigsmile:

Of course I am..
I am a male.. therefore never got passed about 17 !!

But the buggy is now going to be sold ( on SORN now but will sell it next year once the rally season starts )

If you like the 400 then try the 650::bigsmile:::bigsmile:

tried one.. nice but poorer gas miles, more insurance, and heavier.
After all, it is just a scoot and it is never going to go that quick or go round corners that well.. so the 400 will do me well enough :thumb:

Aug 09 to date 9,000 miles!
I'm with Mo on this Jaws, is why I always always preferred pillion on the Bird compared to the Trophy. All I know from sitting on the Trophy is 'Large Xcm - Ycm'. :ROFLMAO:
