Great photo.

I've just had 2 "Amber alerts" from Aurora Watch, so lucky people up North might get to see some more.

Another stunning pic--I'm envious.
It was one of our plans to go in search of the Northern Lights, so in that first year I booked a flight that took a planeload to see them (if poss) The polarity changed and I was on the only flight that year not to see a glimpse  One day....................

Outside your back door !

Do you get them regularly or is it a_special_occasion when you do see them ?

Yes indeed. I used to see them regularly about 8 years ago when I first moved up here then nothing until this year. I think it has something to do with the sunspot cycles of the sun. I believe the sun is becoming more active. For reasons beyond me, the aurora is more common during spring and autumn.

Thanks but believe me when I say this but it is no compensation for the usual weather we get. ::bigsmile:

We must have been lucky, we were in Scotland for the first couple of weeks in July, from Montrose up to Inverness , Granton on Spey and Skye, the weather was mainly good :thumb: a beautiful place to visit :thumb:
