Heard a rumour that the Camping Almafra near Benidorm has gone into receivership & closed. Also heard that they are re-opening as the Orange Grove. The Almafra website is still running but nothing about orange Grove on the web.

Anybody got any info on this?

Yes, last time I communicated with him via RV Full timing he was NOT happy as the site had changed owners and they had to send the keys to the site to get their RV out of storage as the site and what was its storage area now had separate owners :Sad:

I think there will be a few 5th wheel owners sweating over this too. There was always a good number of 5th wheelers on there that were obviously well dug in with no truck to move them.

That's because, AFAIK, they are actually owned by a rental company and are hired out.
Musst admit that Almafra doeen't rally float my boat. We visited a a few years ago when out ther on a visit to my Dads in Calpe. A mate of my Dads lived in a static on there. Place was (IMHO) like an NCP with virtually no greenery. I've heard it's not that much better now. Dads mate moved his static off and further south cos of all the management hassle/incompetance. I believe the facilities are superb which is one reason why JSW has stayed there but personally, I'd rather have less facilities in a more rustic/picturesque place.

They are answering their e-mails but that doesnt prove anything as ownership could well have changed.

Think we'll sail on by this year.
