Ashbourne scary, Morocco great.

Someone round here was spitting mad about a site outside Ashbourne. Mind you compared to Moroccan sites it must have been a palace, don't expect European standard sites in Morocco but do expect a great time.

From memory only 2 sites came up to European standards, one outside Marrakesh and one by Todra Gorge.

Some, my comment was "the toilet isn't fit to empty the cassette into".

Enjoy the adventure. I'm new to this myself and over the years have had many adventures with caravanning and having changed to a MH couldn't be happier.

Hi and welcome to the fun. Looks like exciting times ahead so a few tips.
1) don't forget the corkscrew and bottle opener.
2) Nights in the desert can be really cold, don't dump the duvet.
3) Leave room to pack wine
4) Take a trip to the local weighbridge to make sure you stay legal, there is surprisingly little payload in some vans and the ministry here and in France are carrying out more roadside weight tests.
Make sure you are fully loaded with food water fishing gear wife etc.
5)Dispose of wifes excess clothes to make room for wine.
6) get a workshop manual and breakdown insurance.
7) Fit a safe and alarm system.
8) load more wine, beginning to get the picture
Enjoy:thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb:

the excess baggage

:thumb:he he , talking about the wife, i hope no ladies are reading this, that was the year she forgot the chip pan, then she dropped the car keys down the hole in the loo in paris, what a game trying to get those back.....
our last trip was three weeks in devon and cornwall, living at close quarters
with her was bad enough but she refused to stay at dartmoor prison after i had booked her a room.
she has stated that i will have to take someone else on holidays next year.
i have asked all my lady friends and they have all turned me down.
i think my wife is telling them what i am really like.
my son turned up this morning to see the new motorhome and tells me that he has taken out power of attorny to stop me spending any more
money. fat chance, ha ha , there is none left...........

mmmm you worry me with (i have packed all my gear and wife wants to know where she can put hers), i think before you head off to the wild and wonderful you better get your new home over a weighbridge once you have packed what you want just to check that you are within limit set by the plate.

I trust you have the camping chairs, table etc packed in there somewhere. Clothes and shoes need to be minimalistic in a motorhome to make room for the more important stuff - as im sure others will tell you, there is not a lot of spare payload in a motorhome

Enjoy your new home

only run with enough water on board to see you through the trip, fill up when you get to site and leave site with only a bit of water in your tank, and dont forget to drain your waste tank. all helps with the weight

over the top.

hi maggie, thanks for the advice, i was prepared to leave my wife at home..........we are used to throwing every thing in the van, and bringing most of it home unused.
every trip i say that if it is not used it will stay at home next time.
but we will have a sort out , it is a new experience for both of us.
this forum has been a great help as well as a laugh a minute.
regards, pete.:thumb:
