I'm new
Hi,
I am new to this. Just bought a Burstner and insured it with Caravan Club. Our problem is that we have just realised that they only offer £3500 for contents and because we have just sold our home to go travelling we have no other insurance to cover our personal belongings with amount to more that £3500. Can anyone suggest a Contents insurance policy for Motorhomes please.
Thanks
Mandy

Try Saga. They have been very good with our building insurance and they insure mh's. I'm sure they will do a mh contents package.

Also try Comfort, they specialise in long term travels / full timers..

also check your vehicle is insured for full time living .. normal motorhome insurance does not cover that.

We are with comfort, they will insure contents but not bikes or personal computers.
Have to get a different insurer to do them.

Hi Mandy.Bruce - welcome to the problems of full / long tirming may I suggest you have a look at a sister site to this one www.motorhome365.co.uk and look for insurance theads there - you are entering a minefield of problems which can easily be overcome but you do need to ensure that everying you do is legal.

I spoke to Comfort this week to clarify my fully comp insurance.

I was told that only stuff that directly related to the motorhome...like pots pans, bedding, clothes was covered and that everything else like bikes and laptops would be covered by household insurance.
What they also said was that there were no restrictions in European rescue as far as the size and weight of the motorhome. Whereas the AA said everything they did was limited to 3500 kg.

Worth knowing
