Looking for a bit of advice on the MCC in particular.
We joined the CC when we bought our van 5 years ago and had much less knowledge of facilities available. We have used a number of their sites over the years but now find that they are expensive and, whilst the cost can be justified by the facilities available, we don't really need those facilities as we have them on board. We have also used CL sites and intend doing so more often in future.
We joined the C&CC this year as we had been told about their meets and, especially, Temporary Holiday Sites which usually do not have to be booked in advance (unlike the CC). We haven't used them as much as we would have wished, for a number of reasons, but certainly intend doing so in future - including later this month. We've also used a couple of CSs, and will continue to do so, but are unlikely to use main sites for the same reasons as above.
At the Lincoln Show we thought about joining the MCC for their meets & CLs but, in talking to other Funsters, had conflicting reports.
We like the Fun style "do your own thing and join in only if you want to" approach and don't really want to get involved with meets where everyone is expected to do take part in organised events. Having said that, we are looking forward to what promises to be some daft fancy dress at the C&CC meet we intend going to in a few weeks, just don't want to be expected to at every one.
What do people think?
