When in Rome - introduce yourself :)

Another newbie. Just bought first camper. A 'self build' based on a swb 2004 Peugeot Boxer 2.0 HDi

As expected I'll be a nuisance asking questions that have been asked a million times before.

Don't you hate that? No? Oh, good!

That's fine in theory but you are in Doncaster. To the best of my knowledge very few people wander round Doncaster asking where the Colosseum is.

What's that nice looking red machine ?

True not Rome but we have a bit of Roman history.

And correct so does the motorcycle which is my 1955 Moto Guzzi Falcone Turismo :)

Many thanks for the welcomes and the sarcasm and picking on the new boy!

Go on then, is there a good tale to be told ? I've enjoyed the factory in Mandello del Lario, something every biker should see, in fact that was our first trip to Italy, on an FZ750, long long ago. Did Monza too. Now we go the boring way, by MH.

Don't know about 'good' tales. Always owned bikes – didn't take my car test until early 30's.

Over the years since late 70's, anyway, always had at least one Moto Guzzi in the garage – usually several, currently 3! The Falcone, a V7 Classic and a 1975 T3 (well that's technically not in the garage as most is under the beds in the spare bedrooms – awaiting some parts back from chromers and painters and a winter re-build project) – oh and an Indian made Enfield scrambler.

Had a Ducati, a BM and various Hondas but nothing appeals to me more than a Moto Guzzi.

Have been to the factory at Mandello many times officially as editor of Italian Motorcycle Owners Club magazine and as a tourist :)

I am in the process – do wonder,as a newbie, if frowned upon on sites – of setting up the van I've just bought so that can put the bike in down one side. The right hand side bench/bed seats hinge up out of the way and a wheel choke and tie down supports in place.
