Never stayed on aires before is it safe for us and the motorhome .

We were in France for 7 weeks and used many Aires across Normandy, Brittany and the Loire. never once felt unsafe. As has been said before look around you do you feel uncomfortable? If you do move on there are plenty to choose from. :thumb:

We were talking to another motorhomer a few weeks ago who told us we must visit Puy de Fou as they had stayed there more than once, so I can't imagine they would have done so if they had felt unsafe.

Having used aires de camping during our holiday in France I can't praise them highly enough. Much confusion concerning their safety derives from them having the same name aire that apply to rest areas along side main roads and motorways. These need to be used with great care and viewed with much suspicion but the aires de camping are entirely different but as Ken says in his comment look around you and ask yourself, "Do I feel safe here?" Most of the time you will because you will be surrounded by other MH'rs.
Aires de camping are great but apply common safety rules and be aware and you should have no problems at all.

We've thought it seemed a bit iffy on two we have visited and left again, but the good thing is there's usually another one nearby.

You should be OK at Puy de Fou though, it's like the one at Disney from what we've been told - ie very much frequented!

We visited Puy de Fou 2 years ago, you stay on a big field with what looked like hundreds of motor homes, we stayed for 3 nights but 2 is plenty, walk to the entrance the evening before and you will find a few leaflets written in English and they will give you times of the shows for the next day, try not to miss the birds it is fantastic, if you do not speak french, you will need to get the headphones from the office when you enter to translate the language into English Bambi 2

Puy Du Foy is brilliant,
The motorhome parking area is well safe and not too far a walk from the main entrance

Make sure you take something soft to sit on as all the seating is on wooden or concrete benches,
Also be sure to take plenty to eat and drink, prices for eats are VERY expensive

Try to plan your day, there is so much to do that you will not get round it all in a day

We started off with the vikings, fantastic, then to the water show, ok, then to the Roman collasium, Absolutly Fantastic !!! then to so much more ended the day in the Theater., Brilliant Show, Then back to the van for food and a kip before the light show that started at ten pm when we were there

Unless you speak french , get a translation box, well worth it and a must for the evening light show which is totaly unmissable

We loved Puy Du Foy and will deffo be going back there:thumb:
