Hello everybodies!
My name is Nick and, with me Lin, we have recently bought an Autotrail Cheyenne 635 of the year 2000 vintage.
On a recent motorway and A roads journey, we notice that the fuel consumption is only around the 20mpg mark.
Is there anybody out there with a Cheyenne that gets that kind of mileage, or have I just a heavy foot!
Also. What do y'all think about devices that claim to improve the performance of your vehicle and save fuel, such as the Tunit system?
Thanks!

OK, Rob!
Thanks for the prompt reply!
Tried to use the search engine on this site and it wouldn't let me!
Appreciate that there have prob been many topics on this subject but, I'm a notoriously lazy forum user!

my last van, a 2001 kontiki 640 on a ducato 2.8td, would return 26mph solo and 25mph towing a small car.

Hi Rob just how have you measured this improvement in your Mpg ?I find a 33% improvement very hard to believe Have you done anything else to your van ? like removed a roof box or anything (my RB cost me 4 mpg )You need to measure brim to brim mileage :thumb:Have you slowed down your cursing speed?

Ah! OK!
Thanks for all the replys!
Mr.Wildman. I am a bit un-tecky and, this site is VERY full and complicated and, I didn't know you had to subscribe to search!!!
It can be a bit scary delving into forums about specialist areas of life!

Thank you FatherJohn, for providing the link to a previous debate about the tuning malarkey!
It's comforting that a forum sponsor, like WOW come on here to expose themselves to their customers! You can't ask for more than that!
I will certainly check them out.

Without trying to start a war here!....the Tunit people, advertised in the Camping and Caravanning Mag, offer a tuning service too, which seems to offer less HP and less torque increase than WOW, but for more money!

http://www.tunit.com/

What are the differences, apart from the performance and the money!!
I don't understand what the warranties are from the two companies!

Lifetime software quarantee!
3 year internal parts quarantee!

Am I being hysterical?

Probably.

we have a 2002 Cheyenne 630 2.8 jtd which was only returning about 22mpg we had the wow turn up service and now get 26/8mpg ( calculated brim to brim) and the van engine is more responsive , i would recommend

the tunit is a box that you plug in to the fuel rail of the engine hence parts warranty

wow is a software remap of the ecu
hope that helps

Well that`s our 13th year & still loving it.
Hi, we used to have a Cheyenne with a 2.7 Merc engine and auto box our average was 27mpg.

Have just bought an Autotrail Arapaho with a 160 multi-jet had the engine re-mapped and that also gives 27mpg once on the motorway so well pleased.
