Thanks for that Don, am in the process of planning a trip to Bulgaria and was thinking of the Italy Greece route instead of overland all the way.
Have emailed 2 Greek ferry companies but no reply yet re, on deck camping.
Please read my post "Route to Bulgaria".
Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

We went backpacking in the Greek Islands some years ago, and were told at the time that the greatest works of fiction in the World were the Greek ferry timetables!:roflmto::roflmto:
Don't know what they are like now, but it was true at the time - we went to book on one island only to be told that the ferry we wanted did not now stop at that island, and that we had to get another ferry to meet up with it. Great fun though - the lesson learned was always allow plenty of time, arrive early in case they've advanced the departure, and be prepared for cancellations for any reason.

Hi Bob & Di,

You are referring to the Greek inter island ferries that have not changed much since the year dot. They are a definite experience not to be missed. :winky::winky:

The international ferries have improved beyond all recognition over the last 10 years. :thumb::thumb:
